GovBot Public Lands & Wildfire Perimeters
Terms of use
Plain terms for using a read-only service that retrieves public agency records.
Scope. These terms apply to the GovBot Public Lands & Wildfire Perimeters service at lands-api.govbot.ai. The ChatGPT plugin is in preparation and has not been submitted or published in any OpenAI directory.
Who provides the service
GovBot Public Lands & Wildfire Perimeters is an independent service of Ideation Lab, Corp. It is not an official product of any federal, state, tribal, territorial or local government agency, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Geological Survey, the National Interagency Fire Center, any other source agency, or OpenAI.
What the service does
It retrieves records from fixed public map services and reports the source, record dates, retrieval time and known gaps. It is read-only and writes nothing back to any source. No account, sign-in, API key, payment or subscription is required.
Source records
Records come from the agencies that publish them. Fire perimeter records are provisional, and land and protected-area records may be outdated, incomplete or overlapping. GovBot does not verify or certify source records. Gaps are reported as unknown, and an unavailable source is reported as an error.
What the results are not
- Not a title, legal boundary, mineral estate, survey or property appraisal determination.
- Not a legal right of entry, or a camping, road-access or closure determination. A public access code is source metadata, not permission.
- Not evacuation, alert, navigation, emergency aid, fire spread or risk forecast, or safety information. A missing fire perimeter never means an area is safe or a fire has ended.
In an emergency, call 911. Follow instructions from local officials.
Acceptable use
- Use public research points, place names and states. Do not use the service to look up private individuals or their addresses.
- Do not attempt to bypass input limits or to send URLs, SQL or credentials through tool inputs.
Changes
The service, its sources and these terms may change. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
